Day 6 - What To Do With Your Old Clothes?

How many new clothes are added to your wardrobe on a monthly basis? According to TRAID, 23% of Londoner’s clothes are unworn, so why keep purchasing clothing and potentially create environmental impact, instead, take out your old clothes and think about what you can do with it.
So why are those clothes considered as old clothes? Is it ripped? Does it not fit anymore? Or you just don’t like the look of it?
If it’s ripped, or some accessories are missing, why not try to repair it? Take it to a local clothing repair shop and ask for help to fix it. I’m sure it will be brand new after the help of some professionals.
Donate If you really decided the clothes are not well fit and are out of style for you, why not try to give your clothing a second life by donating them to your local charity shop or thrift store. One of the suggestions are TRAID, they are a charity organization that aims to reduce clothing waste, and turns the funds raised to improve the textile industry.
Upcycle Another interesting solution is to UPCYCLE your clothes! Upcycle is to give your clothing some new design to it, it could be small changes that gives your clothing some fresh and newness to it, it could be turning jeans into shorts or turning a hoodie into a cropped hoodie. Pass down clothes Do you have any family or friends who would love the chance to try out your old clothes? A sibling, a nephew or niece? Or maybe a best friend who's always wanted to try out your favourite shirt?
Resell Websites and apps like Vinted, Depop, Shpock or even Facebook Marketplace are popular places where people can resell anything from old clothes to old furniture. It can also be great with some extra cash!

I normally give it to the charities , family and friends
