TRAID is a charity organisation that stops clothes from being thrown away, and encourages clothes to have a second life to reduce the environmental and social impacts by turning the clothes into funds and resources.

Over 1500 clothes banks, home collection, and charity shops are provided by TRAID to collect clothes waste to avoid the increase of clothes going to landfills. TRAID transforms the given clothes into high quality stock for their charity shops based on the clothes’ condition, quality, and style.

The funds raised by TRAID will be committed to global projects such as improving the conditions and working practices in the textile industry.

TRAID BANKS

So HURRY UP! Take a look at your clothing rail and see what clothes you no longer want or wear, and give the clothes a second life by donating them to TRAID! Some TRAID banks are located at: London Welsh RFC, London Road Recycling Point, and Hertford Avenue Recycling Are. If those locations are not suitable for you, don’t worry!

TRAID provides home collections which you can easily book online! Right here.

TRAID SHOPS

If you want to shop at TRAID, TRAID shops are located all around London, and there must be one around you! Some of the locations are: Brixton, Camden, Clapham, and Hammersmith. For more information, please visit their website.

TRAID VOLUNTEER WORK

If you would like to participate in reducing clothing waste and to SLOW DOWN FASHION more than donating your unwanted clothes, you could even sign up to be a volunteer at TRAID!

You could be involved in roles including:

- Helping and welcoming TRAID customers

- Sorting, pricing and hanging donations

- Promoting the shop and stock on social media

- Visual merchandising

Today’s task:

Where is your closest TRAID located? What is something you’d love to donate to them?
